Students have just finished reading Chapter 6 in Hatchet. The main idea of the chapter was how Brian was able to build himself a shelter after the plane crash.   I thought it would be fun to take the group outside and try to build a shelter themselves.  Students were divided into groups and headed down an area around CBS that was perfect for building.  They were only allowed to use found objects such as leaves, sticks, etc.  I never imagined that the shelters would evolve as they did!  With lots of collaboration and effort, here are some photos of the results.  They were GREAT!  Thanks!  Mrs. B.
